Some examples of this topic are the gun fight and the shark attack. Another example of suspense is in the city when Adam has to get to Cannon Tallis. Kali changes her mind about Cannon Tallis & Co., and Joshua is killed, which is definitely a surprise ending.
Symbolism
In The Arm of the Starfish, Joshua signifies hope, fun, and love, and Cannon Tallis signifies protection, kindness, and power. Also, Typhoon Cutter signifies evil, and Kali is the snake that tempts Adam.
